The original Capybara Café opened in St. Augustine last year.
The St. Petersburg location is “next level,” the company wrote, adding, “We’re introducing a brand-new format and a fresh mix of animals that’ll leave you speechless (and yes, there will be capybaras).”
The space will feature a Capybara Lounge with seating and roaming capybaras, “a high-energy Lemur Lounge that’s part cuddle session, part comedy show,” an After Dark experience with fennec foxes, skunks, and other nocturnal animals, and a Mini Safari with wallabies, coatis, and armadillos.
There’s also a private Capybara Lounge for those who want a more personal connection with the animals.
The café is run by Noah’s Ark Sanctuary, a nonprofit organization dedicated to animal rescue and advocacy.
