Gateway Project To Close Roads To St. Pete-Clearwater Airport: FDOT

Drivers headed to and out of the St. Pete-International Clearwater Airport will have detours set up Thursday night as crews perform work.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Portions of Roosevelt Boulevard Eastbound and Terminal Boulevard will close Thursday night in St. Petersburg and into Clearwater, a Florida Department of Transportation news release said.

St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport travelers and workers driving northbound on 49th Street N will have detours set up on 49th Street N continuing through the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and then turn east onto Fairchild Drive, FDOT said.

Drivers coming from Bayside Bridge southbound will continue south on 49th Street N making a U-turn at 140th Avenue North, continue north on 49th Street then turn east on Fairchild Drive to get to the airport.

To Access Ulmerton Road From The Airport

Drivers leaving the airport will be detoured west onto Roosevelt Boulevard, south onto the 49th Street South onramp then head east to Ulmerton Road.

Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will assist drivers traveling through the area.

This temporary closure is for crews to perform work associated with the Gateway Expressway Project, FDOT said.

The closures will be from 10 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday.
