Hit-And-Run Driver Arrested In Gulfport Scooter Crash: Pinellas Sheriff
Two people were injured when their electric scooter was hit by a van in Gulfport on Friday night, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.
GULFPORT, FL — Two people were injured Friday night when the electric scooter they were on was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash, authorities said.
The crash happened at 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of Gulfport Boulevard and Luana Lane South. Gulfport police and fire and rescue personnel responded to the location and discovered two people lying in the roadway.
Both victims, a 61-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, are in stable condition on Monday.

Deputies identified the suspect's vehicle as a red 1997 Ford Econoline van registered to 77-year-old Eugenijus Sviderskas, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Sviderkas admitted to driving the van and hearing a loud thud, but didn’t stop, the sheriff’s office said.

He was charged with two counts of leaving the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury and one count of tampering with physical evidence.
Both victims are in stable condition on Monday.
