Man Charged In Fatal DUI Crash On His Birthday: St. Pete Police
A man was charged with DUI manslaughter in a fatal St. Pete crash on 38th Avenue N. on his birthday, police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A man is accused of driving under the influence in a fatal crash on his birthday, St. Petersburg police said in a news release.
Angel Shihate, 89, was killed in the Wednesday evening crash on 38th Avenue N.
Brett McClelland, 41, was driving a Subaru Outback west in the 7800 block when he swerved into oncoming traffic around 6:30 p.m., police said.

He hit a Toyota sedan with Shihate behind the wheel that was traveling east on 38th Avenue N. in a head-on collision, investigators said.
She died of her injuries at the hospital and McClelland was seriously injured in the crash.

He was found to be under the influence and arrested, police said. He was charged with DUI manslaughter and DUI causing serious bodily injury.
