Man Shot Outside St. Pete Store On Dr. MLK Street South: Police
A St. Pete police officer used a K9 to help track the suspect a short distance away following the shooting.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — An 62-year-old man is accused by police of shooting an 84-year-old man outside a St. Pete convenience store early Saturday morning, a St. Pete police news release said.
The suspect, Tyrone Church, faces attempted murder and felon in possession of a firearm, according to police.
The victim sat in his car in the parking lot of MLK Food Store, 1500 Dr. MLK Street S., when he was shot at about 5:50 a.m., police said.

A police officer arrested Church shortly afterward at a nearby location, police said.
Officers said the victim experienced non-life-threatening injuries.
