DumpTruck Hits, Kills Man In St. Pete Friday: Police
St. Petersburg police have begun investigating a fatal wreck on 102nd Avenue North.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — UPDATE: A dump truck hit and killed a pedestrian crossing 28th Street North in St. Pete Friday morning at about 6:35 a.m., St. Pete police said.
The truck drove southbound as the victim, John McDougal, 54, crossed the street from east to west and was hit by the truck. Medical officials pronounced McDougal dead at the crash location.
The driver stopped and has cooperated with officers.

St. Pete police said a hauling truck hit a man at 6:38 a.m. at Halkey Roberts Place (102nd Avenue North) and 28th Street North. At 9:12 a.m., the intersection remains closed for an investigation.
