Pinellas To Host Paper Shredding Event
Pinellas County residents can bring up to six boxes of papers to shred during the event.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – According to the Federal Bureau of Justice, identity theft affects an estimated 17.6 million Americans. Shredding can help reduce the risk of identity theft by disposing sensitive documents.
The Pinellas County Office of Consumer Protection and Solid Waste will host a free paper shredding event on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Solid Waste Administration Building, 3095 114th Ave. N., St. Petersburg. The event can be accessed through the first driveway south of 118th Avenue North on 28th Street North.
The event will provide Pinellas County residents with a safe and convenient way to recycle while properly disposing document with personal information that could get in the wrong hands and lead to identify theft.

Residents can bring up to six file-size boxes or bags per vehicles. Paper clips, rubber bands, staples and paper folders will be allowed. Boxes should be free of metal clips, wet paper, metal file hangers and binder clips. Documents should be removed from three-ring binders.
Documents brought to the event will be secured and shred off-site by an AAA NAID Certified shredding company. For more information about AAA NAID Certification, visitwww.naidonline.org.
