Some Pinellas County Parks Closed After Hurricane Hermine’s Pass By

Breaking: Pinellas County has announced that several parks are off limits until further notice thanks to storm impacts.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Tampa Bay area residents with plans to visit some of Pinellas County’s most popular parks over the Labor Day weekend might want to check on their status before making the drive. The county has announced that several parks have been closed until further notice courtesy of storm impacts related to Hurricane Hermine’s pass by the region early Friday morning.

As of Friday afternoon, the following parks were closed until further notice:

  • Lake Seminole Park
  • War Veterans’ Memorial Park
  • John S. Taylor Park
  • Fred Howard Park
  • Heritage Village
  • Weedon Island Preserve
  • Sand Key Park
  • Fort De Soto Park

Residents will find updates on the parks’ status posted on the county’s website at: www.pinellascounty.org.
