Police Seek Public's Help With Melrose Avenue Homicide Investigation

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Police began investigating a homicide in St. Petersburg on Sunday morning.

A body was on Melrose Avenue South, west of Dr. MLK Street South, just before 7:15 a.m., a St. Pete police news release said.

Detectives had not determined the cause of the 60-year-old man's death on Sunday evening. However, it is considered a homicide, according to police.

Police will not release the victim's name until his next of kin is notified.
