St. Pete Cop Arrested on Domestic Battery Charge

Breaking: The six-year St. Petersburg Police Department veteran was arrested on Sunday morning.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A six-year St. Petersburg Police Department veteran faces a domestic battery charge following a dispute with his live-in girlfriend over the weekend.

According to the police department, Officer Curtis Wright was arrested by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office early Sunday morning. The charge stemmed from an altercation that took place Saturday at the home Wright and his girlfriend share.

Wright was placed on administrative duty following his arrest, according to the police department. He has served as a member of the St. Petersburg department since April 19, 2010.
