St. Pete High Achievement Team Wins National Home Depot Challenge

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Five 10th grade students from St. Pete High School in Junior Achievement’s innovative 3DE program won the National Case Competition Challenge on April 1, a news release said.

Fifteen schools competed in the challenge.

The 3DE program is based on involvement from business professionals as advisors and coaches throughout the program, helping to bring real-world circumstances to the classroom. For this competition, The Home Depot challenged the teams to create an innovative showroom-type experience centered on kitchen products.

During the challenge, which was virtual, the students presented their solution to the challenge to a panel of judges, and their peers on a national stage. St. Pete High hosted a watch party in the cafeteria so all their 3DE students could cheer on their fellow peers. At the end, the judges revealed that St. Pete High won the challenge.

The winning 10th-grade team from St. Pete High included Amaya Aikens, Kenyon Clarkson, Alisha Ford, Tate Keber and Mya Muar.
