St. Pete, Sarasota Rank As ‘Most Walkable Neighborhoods’
Redfin has ranked Florida's most walkable neighborhoods with St. Petersburg and Sarasota earning high marks.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Tampa Bay area residents who prefer getting around using foot power instead of automobiles may be pleased to know two cities in the region rank high in the walkability department. That’s according to the real estate brokerage Redfin, which recently ranked Florida’s Most Walkable Neighborhoods.
Miami Beach’s Flamingo Park and Orlando’s downtown/Lake Eola areas scored first and second place honors in the Top 10 ranking, but St. Petersburg and Sarasota weren't far behind. St. Pete earned third place in the rankings that were based on data provided by Walk Score. Downtown St. Petersburg was specifically called out for being among the Sunshine State’s most walkable neighborhoods with a Walk Score of 90.9.
Sarasota’s Main Street snagged fourth place bragging rights with a 90.1 walkability score. “The walkable neighborhood and pleasant weather has made Main Street a popular destination for snowbirds coming down to Florida to escape the colder winters up north,” Redfin noted on its website. Sarasota’s Rosemary District also placed in the Top 10 ranking at number 10.
