2 St. Pete Shootings Under Investigation

St. Petersburg Police are investigating two Tuesday afternoon shootings that may be connected.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating two Tuesday afternoon shootings that may be connected.

According to the agency, the first shooting call came in around 4:40 p.m. July 25 from a home in the 4600 block of 11th Avenue South. Police, however, say it is possible “that the shooting occurred at a different location.”

The adult male victim in that case was taken to a hospital for treatment, an email from the sheriff's office said.

Police say a second gunshot victim showed up at the hospital while the first shooting was being investigated. The victim in that case is also an adult male, the police department said. Both men are believed to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

"We believe the two injuries are from the same incident, however investigators are still sorting through what occurred," the email said.
