St. Pete Shooting Victims Identified
St. Petersburg Police have released some details about a double shooting that occurred on 14th Avenue South Tuesday.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — As the St. Petersburg Police Department continues to investigate a Tuesday double shooting that sent two men to the hospital, more details in the case have been released.
Police say the victims are Eric Blue, 44, and Weston Coleman, 51.

The incident that led to both men getting injured occurred in the 4600 block of 14th Avenue South, a Wednesday morning email from the police department said. Authorities first learned of the incident when a call came in from a home in the 4600 block of 11th Avenue South. Blue, the police department said, went to the 11th Avenue South home to call authorities for help after the shooting. He was subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment.
While police were at the hospital, Coleman was brought in, also suffering a gunshot wound.

What led up to the shooting and who fired shots remains under investigation.
“Both men are expected to survive from their injuries,” the police department reported. “Coleman underwent surgery yesterday, so detectives have not been able to question him yet,” the email noted.
No charges have been announced. Further information is not being released at this time.
