St. Pete Stabbing Investigation Continues
Breaking: The victim in a Wednesday afternoon stabbing has been identified.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred Wednesday afternoon in the area of the 4800 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North.
According to the agency, a man ran out into traffic in that area around 12:31 p.m. The man, police noted in an email to media, had been stabbed multiple times and was looking for help.
The victim, since identified as Yoel Magrinat, 44, was taken to Bayfront Health as a trauma alert. Later Wednesday afternoon police said Magrinat is believed to have injuries that are not life threatening.

Police detained a person of interest in the case, but later released him, the agency said.
"Investigators are still trying to find out exactly where and why the stabbing occurred," the email noted.

The stabbing closed off a section of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street for a time Wednesday afternoon.
