Sting To Perform In St. Pete At Florida Orchestra Fundraiser
Months after performing in Tampa with Billy Joel, Sting will return May 9 to take the stage in St. Pete with The Florida Orchestra.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Months after performing in Tampa with Billy Joel, Sting will return to the region to perform at a fundraising event for The Florida Orchestra, according to a news release.
He and the Piano Man took the stage at Raymond James Stadium Feb. 24.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s appearance supporting The Florida Orchestra will take place May 9 at The Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg.

During “An Intimate Evening with Sting and The Florida Orchestra: A Gala Concert” the iconic rock star and former front man of The Police will perform reinterpreted versions of fan favorites, such as “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” “Englishman In New York,” “Fields of Gold,” “Roxanne” and “Every Breath You Take.”
Tickets went on sale to subscribers Wednesday and open to the general public on March 6. Prices are $100, $200, $300, $400, $550 and $750.

They’re available at FloridaOrchestra.org, by phone at 727-892-3337 or in person at the orchestra’s ticket center, 244 Second Ave. N in downtown St. Petersburg.
Sting first performed with The Florida Orchestra in 2017 to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Those who attended the sold-out show called the concert “magical,” “mesmerizing” and “tremendously moving,” according to the news release.
He got his start with The Police, which formed in London in 1977. The band released five studio albums, earned six Grammy Awards and two Brits, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 20023.
As a solo artist, Sting has earned another 11 Grammy Awards, two Brits, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, four Oscar nominations, a Tony nomination, Billboard Magazine’s Century Award and MusiCares 2004 Person of the Year award.
Sting has sold 100 million albums from his combined work with The Police and as a solo artist.
