Suspect Arrested Following Fatal Shooting During Fight: Police

A St. Pete man who is accused of killing a victim on Saturday morning at a house in Pinellas County faces a second-degree murder charge.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Police arrested a 25-year-old suspect Saturday night who is accused of fatally shooting a St. Petersburg man earlier that same day, a St. Pete police news release said.

James White faces a charge of second-degree murder, according to Pinellas County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) arrest records.

White's bond for a second-degree murder charge has been set for $250,000 at the Pinellas County Jail, PCSO's arrest website said.

White and the victim, Marcus Nilsen, 29, got into a fight just before 7:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Police have accused White of shooting Nilsen during a fight in the suspect's home in the 4000 block of 34th Avenue South, St. Petersburg.

A medical examiner pronounced Nilsen dead at the shooting location, police said.
