Tampa Bay Airports To Receive FAA Infrastructure Grants
Eight Tampa Bay airports are on Cloud Nine after the U.S. Department of Transportation announced they have been awarded grants.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Eight Tampa Bay are on Cloud Nine after U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao announced they have been awarded or soon will be awarded grants to make long-awaited improvements.
The Federal Aviation Administration are doling out $3.18 billion in Airport Improvement Program funding this year for projects across the nation to make
improvements to airport safety, capacity, security and environmental concerns.
Among the airports benefiting is The St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport, which will receive $8.9 million to install new perimeter fencing and rehabilitate a runway with new lighting and pavement.

Winter Haven's Gilbert Airport will receive $2.5 million to install runway lighting and pavement.
Venice Municipal Airport is expected to receive $180,000 to extend its taxiway.

Zephyrhills Municipal Airport is getting $150,000 toward its ongoing master plan study.
Albert Whitted Airport in St. Petersburg will receive $324,000 to update its master play study.
Lakeland Linder Regional has been tapped to receive $4.5 million to reconstruct its taxiway and rehabilitate its apron.
Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport is eligible for a $1.7 million grant to acquire an aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicle, rehabilitate its aircraft rescue and firefighting building and rehabilitate a runway.
And Bartow Municipal Airport is eligible to receive $360,000 to update its drainage.
