The airport is also on pace to serve 2.74 million passengers this year — well above the previous record of 2.49 million, which was set in 2023, St. Pete Catalyst reported.
The number of travelers through the airport increased by 197 percent between 2014 and 2024, reports said.
PIE is planning a parking project to address the growth, including a 1,300-space garage and a 500-space surface lot.
