FLORIDA — Multiple Tampa Bay-area bridges have closed as Hurricane Milton approaches Florida.

The Sunshine Skyway Bridge, connecting Pinellas and Manatee counties, closed Wednesday morning because of high winds ahead of Hurricane Milton, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Howard Frankland Bridge, which connects Pinellas and Hillsborough counties, also closed to traffic Wednesday.

Other bridges closed includes westbound Gandy Bridge and westbound Courtney Campbell Causeway.
