Tampa Bay Rays Fan Dick Vitale: Baseball Forever Campaign Is ‘Awesome, Baby’

The legendary basketball analyst announced his support for the Tropicana Field site.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – While Dick Vitale may be best known for basketball, he’s been a Tampa Bay Rays season ticket holder since Day One.

The most famous Rays fan doesn’t sit secluded in a luxury suite away from prying eyes. He can be seen at the game (and many times on television) in his seat along the third-base line in Tropicana Field.

Vitale, the legendary baseball analyst and former collegiate and professional basketball coach, joined St. Petersburg’s Baseball Forever campaign in a new promotional video.

“You don’t want to forget about Sarasota; you don’t want to forget about Lakewood Ranch; you don’t want to forget about Bradenton,” Vitale said in the video. “Then you got Clearwater, you got the Tampa area. It’s perfectly located.”

The Baseball Forever Campaign is an initiative of the City of St. Petersburg, the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg residents and like-minded fans of the Tampa Bay Rays.
