Tierra Verde Named A Top 5 Trending Destination In U.S.: TripAdvisor

TIERRA VERDE, FL — A small island community just off St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach has landed on TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Trending Destinations top 10 list for the U.S. in 2023.

Tierra Verde, which serves as a gateway to Fort De Soto Park, nabbed the No. 5 spot on the list.

The list is compiled based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings posted on TripAdvisor during the past 12 months, as well as editorial input.

“Just beyond the tip of St. Petersburg, Florida, the island of Tierra Verde is more than just a quiet boating community—it’s also a stepping stone to some of the best nature and wildlife in the area,” according to TripAdvisor. “Bike or take a drive down the Pinellas Bayway to Fort De Soto Park for a day at the beach (pets welcome!), catch a ferry to Egmont or Shell Key for tortoise-spotting and bird watching, and, if all else fails, fresh seafood, live music, and cold drinks are always within reach.”

The travel website suggested visitors go on a clear kayak tour of Shell Key Preserve, take a dolphin watch or sunset cruise, or tour Fort De Soto’s beaches by electric bike.
