Vinoy Ranked Top Hotel In St. Pete: U.S. News & World Report

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The Vinoy Rennaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club was ranked the No. 1 hotel and resort in St. Petersburg for 2023 by U.S. News & World Report.

The four-star hotel also earned the No. 44 spot on the list of Best Florida Hotels and is No. 423 on list of Best USA Hotels.

The rankings were determined using a methodology relying on reputation among professional travel experts, guest reviews and hotel class ratings. U.S. News & World Report researched more than 35,000 luxury properties worldwide.

“Picturesquely positioned on St. Petersburg, Florida's beautiful waterfront, The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club has elegant and anchored boats in its sights. Travelers say the hotel's interior is just as beautiful,” according to the website’s listing for the Vinoy.

The Vinoy is also a Gold Badge winner, which places it in the top 10 percent of all ranked luxury hotels in the U.S.

It also recently earned three critics’ awards, including Fodor’s Choice, Condé Nast Readers' Choice List 2022 and AAA/CAA Four Diamond Awards 2022.

The historic hotel is currently undergoing an extensive renovation as it rebrands as part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection. It will be renamed The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club.

“With The Vinoy’s comprehensive renovations underway, we’re looking forward to joining Marriott’s Autograph Collection as the historic resort enters the next chapter of its nearly 100-year legacy in downtown St. Petersburg," the hotel's new general manager, Vanessa Williams, said in a statement provided to Patch. "The Vinoy’s timeless elegance and rich history fit naturally with the Autograph Collection’s ethos of hotels and resorts with vibrant character and distinct identity.”

Designed by world-renowned firms Rockwell Group and Hart Howerton, the redesign includes the resort’s veranda, porte cochère, main lobby, guest rooms, spa, ballrooms, restaurants and more, according to a news release.

In December, the Vinoy unveiled the first completed pieces of its comprehensive renovation – the Palm Court Ballroom and the Vinoy Grand Ballroom.
