Watering Restrictions Stressed By City For St. Pete Residents

The city asks for residents to consider implementing water-saving practices to help save every drop.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL —The city of St. Pete reminds residents of water restrictions due to drought condition and an increased demand for water, according to a press release by the city. They stress the importance to obey the year-round water restriction rules, which are:

  • Customer with potable, private well and surface water sources may water twice a week, between the hours of 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. or 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Addresses ending in an even number may irrigate on Tuesdays and Saturdays only.
  • Addresses ending in an odd number and locations with no address may irrigate on Wednesdays and Sundays only.
  • Customers with reclaimed water are encouraged to water no more than three times per week, between the hours of 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. or 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Unnecessary and wasteful uses of water are always prohibited. Examples include hosing down driveways and impervious surfaces, allowing water to flow unattended and using water inefficiently.

Customers are required to test irrigation systems for leaks and inefficiencies.
