What's Open, Closed For 2016 St. Petersburg Holiday

Be on the look out for changes to library, golf course, and recreation center schedules, among many others.

From the city of St. Petersburg: St. Petersburg city government offices will be closed on Mondays, December 26 and January 2. During both holiday weeks, regular trash and recycling pickup for St. Petersburg residential customers normally made on Monday will be collected on Tuesday,while Tuesday collections will be made on Wednesday.City facility holiday schedules on these four dates:

Early Closings:

  • The Mahaffey Theater business office will be closed starting at 1 p.m. on Dec.23 through Dec. 26.
  • Mahaffey Theater and Box Office will be closed Dec. 24.
  • The Municipal Marina Ship's Store will close at noon on Dec. 24.
  • Sunken Gardens will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24.
  • Treasure Island Beach concession stand will close at 1 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 31.
  • North Shore Aquatic Complex will close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 31.
  • City libraries will close at 4 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 31.Golf Courses.
  • The city's three public golf courses (Mangrove Bay, CypressLinks, and Twin Brooks) are closed on Christmas Day, December 25 ONLY.
    • All three courses will be open regular hours on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
  • Libraries
    • The West Community Library at St. Petersburg College will beclosed December 23 to 26 and December 30 to January 1.
    • On December 31, the Mirror Lake Library downtown will be open for First Night St. Petersburg 2017 festivities from 4 until 8 p.m.

  • Residential Sanitation:
    • During the holiday weeks of December 26 to 30 and January 2 to 6, regular trash and recycling pickup for St. Petersburg residential customers normally made on Monday will be collected on Tuesday,while Tuesday collections will be made on Wednesday.
    • Thursday and Friday collection days remain the same.
    • Brush sites will be closed on Christmas Dayand New Year's Day.

*Note: The Coliseum doors open at 7:30 p.m. on December 31, for the "Swingin'the New Year" big band event from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The Enoch Davis Center will be open January 1 for the Imani (Faith) Kwanzaa event, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
