ST. PETERSBURG, FL — While Memorial Day is a holiday viewed by many throughout St. Petersburg and across America as the start of summer, it's more importantly, a day of remembrance for all American lives lost during military service.

For this reason, many government services, departments and buildings close in observance of Memorial Day. Here's a comprehensive list of what's open and closed in St. Pete Monday:

City Offices: Closed Monday

County Trash & Recycling: Monday collections will be made on Tuesday. Tuesday collections will be made on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday collections remain the same.

Neighborhood Pools: Open

Northshore Aquatic Complex: Open
