Woman Delivers More Than 10,000 Meals In Coronavirus Pandemic

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

Hero's job: Non-profit administrator that advocates for families with babies and young children. Since the rise of coronavirus, Plews and her staff have delivered more than 10,000 meals to families that are home bound as well as delivered basic needs and beds for babies.

Relationship to nominee: Colleague

Reason for recognition: Mary Jo Plews has over 28 years of background supporting families in the Tampa Bay Area. She is dedicated to finding resources for the families served by the Healthy Start Coalition of Pinellas.

One thing to know: Plews works alongside her staff as a team. She thrives to make sure the families served in Healthy Start have resources that will alleviate them from their worries and concerns. Plews is always at the frontline to find solutions and resources.
