Woman Hit, Killed By SUV On Central Avenue: Police

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — An SUV hit and killed a Gainesville woman crossing Central Avenue early Sunday morning, St. Pete police said.

A white Chevrolet SUV hit 34-year-old Meghan Prettyman as she crossed mid-block in the 1600 block of Central Avenue at 12:52 a.m., police said.

Medical staff at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg pronounced her dead after she had been taken to that location.

The driver of the vehicle, who showed no signs of impairment, did cooperate with officers during the investigation, police said.
