Local Couple Debuts New 16 Handles Location in Surfside

SURFSIDE, Fla. (Dec. 15, 2025) –16 Handles, the beloved New York City self-serve frozen yogurt brand known for its unique flavors and premium soft serve, will debut a shop in Surfside on Dec. 21 The new spot, at 9509 Harding Avenue, aims to be the top community-driven destination for frozen yogurt and desserts.

Eli and Phoebe Osdoba are the husband-and-wife team bringing 16 Handles to the community. Before relocating from New York to Surfside, the couple lived within walking distance of a 16 Handles and visited daily, especially memorable for Phoebe, who enjoyed the couple’s regular stop throughout her first trimester of pregnancy. After moving during the pandemic, they quickly realized their new neighborhood lacked a frozen yogurt shop and often found themselves driving 30 minutes to satisfy their froyo cravings. Their longtime love for 16 Handles made the decision easy: if they were going to open a frozen yogurt shop, it had to be a 16 Handles.

What started as lighthearted frustration inspired Eli, a real estate finance professional and investor, to begin researching franchise opportunities. He felt confident the brand’s modern flavors, toppings, and store experience would resonate locally. The new location is also certified by Kosher Miami and will offer Chalov Yisroel options, making it a welcoming destination for families across the community.

A Grand Opening event is set for Dec. 21 with free frozen yogurt for the first 100 guests, half-price treats from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and other discounts throughout the weekend.

16 Handles features 16 soft serve flavors accompanied by over 50 premium toppings and sauces, as well as a variety of frozen novelties such as cakes, take-home pints, and DŌ gourmet edible cookie dough. Soft serve flavors range from vegan, nonfat and no sugar added frozen yogurt to rich and creamy ice cream. The brand pushes the boundaries of innovation, with recent limited-edition flavor launches including French Fry, Squid Ink, Butter Beer, Coconut Lemon Saffron, and Keto Chocolate Brownie, alongside staples like Classic Vanilla, Original Tart, and Made with Nutella.
