Michael W. Allan's car was found in a Tarpon Springs parking lot in 1997.

Allan, of Holiday, had gone missing that Halloween, but it wasn't until April of this year that recently developed DNA technology matched him to skeletal remains that found under the Howard Frankland Bridge 10 months after his disappearance.

Now, investigators are saying Allan's death was a homicide, TBO.com reports.

"Mr. Allan was murdered," Rick Ramirez of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement told TBO on Wednesday, exactly 15 years after Allan went missing, "and we are looking to the public to help in this investigation."

Investigators aren't saying how they Allan died, but they have possible suspects and are still looking for anyone who might know something about the case.
