Attempted Abduction Of Tarpon Springs Student Leads To 2 Arrests

TARPON SPRINGS, FL — Tarpon Springs police detectives have made two arrests in the attempted abduction of a Tarpon Springs High School student Wednesday.

According to Tarpon Springs police, the student told the school resource officer that she was walking to her bus stop at the intersection of Grosse Avenue and Harrison Street around 8 a.m. when a man she didn't know got out of an older-model silver Nissan pickup truck and tried to grab her by the left shoulder.

The girl said she was able to fight him off and run to her bus stop.

Detectives announced they arrested Jamichael Antoine Williams, 38, of Tarpon Springs and Paul Sylvestor Warren, 65, of Tarpon Springs, and charged both with one felony count of false imprisonment. The pickup truck used in the attack was impounded.
