Beckett Bridge to Reopen Wednesday Morning
Barricades will be picked up starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, officials said. The bridge was has been closed to traffic since Monday.
Beckett Bridge on Riverside Drive in Tarpon Springs is scheduled to reopen to traffic Wednesday morning, Pinellas County officials said.
The bridge was closed Monday so engineers could evaluate a problem in the roadway.
Barricades will be picked up starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, and county crews will be on site to prepare the bridge to be opened to traffic, officials said in a news release.

The bridge, which traverses Whitcomb Bayou, was originally constructed of timber in 1924 and rebuilt in concrete in 1956. There have been major repairs to the structure in recent years, with the latest repair completed in 2011.
