Captain Pappas, Nana’s Receive Beautification Award

At Tuesday night’s commission meeting, Sue Thomas awarded Captain Pappas Fish Market (July) and Nana’s Restaurant (August) the monthly Beautification Award. The business worthy of the award is chosen by the chamber and is based on exterior facelifts.

Three years ago, the chamber started handing out the award to encourage business owners to enhance their appearance. President of the chamber, Sue Thomas said new traffic will be drawn to the area if it is visually pleasing.

“It’s a nice way to attract new businesses to town,” said Thomas.

Any area business can be recommended for the award, even if it is not a chamber member.
