Details Emerge in 2011 Tarpon Springs Slaying
An arrest affidavit reveals new information about a 2011 case, in which a Tarpon Springs man killed his grandparents and then set fire to their home.

New information has emerged in the 2011 shooting deaths of Steve and Flora Georgiou of Tarpon Springs.
The Tampa Bay Times reports that George Georgiou, 24, who is accused of killing his grandparents before lighting their house on fire in January 2011 will enter a pretrial hearing on June 18.
A recent search warrant obtained by the Tarpon Springs Police Deparment allowed investigators to dig deeper into the case. According to the Times, Georgiou told jail inmate Joshua Hood, 25, a number of details about the incident that matched up with the crime scene, from two different types of firearms he used to the idea of covering up the killings with a fire.

Hood also told police Georgiou confessed to researching ways to kill his grandparents online. The laptop has been in possession of police since the crime in 2011, but the recent search warrant will allow law enforcement to search the hard drive.
Georgiou is currently facing charges of two counts of first-defree murder and one count of arson.
