Looking for a Furry Friend?
Local PetSmart stores will be holding a pet adoption event this weekend.
From Friday May 3 through Sunday, May 5, PetSmart stores across the country will celebrate National Pet Adoption Weekend.
The stores will connect with local animal welfare groups to feature dogs and cats that need homes. The adoptions will take place on site at the stores through the weekend.
"The successful adoption stories we hear each National Adoption Weekend prove the work PetSmart Charities is doing makes a difference in the lives of homeless pets," said Jan Wilkins, executive director, PetSmart Charities, Inc. in a news release.

More than 400,000 pets are adopted each year through PetSmart's adoption programs, according to the store's website.
The adoption weekend program will take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 5.
