More on Jim Bouldin:Β Although Bouldin is semi-retired, he stays busy with various consulting jobs at a number of publications. A self proclaimed "newsie," Bouldin has been in theΒ newspaper industry for most of his career, from editorial to marketing.Β 

In 1987,Β BouldinΒ moved toΒ Tarpon Springs from Rochester, NY. In 1993, Bouldin accepted an offer in Excelsior Springs, MO, as the publisher of Excelsior Springs Standard.

He remained in Excelsior Springs until 2008 when he decided to return to Tarpon Springs.Β Education was always an important aspect of Bouldin's career. Bouldin studied at Western Michigan University for two years.

With many ties toΒ his community in Excelsior Springs, Bouldin offers an array of experience, from being a former board member and president of the Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce to serving as a board member of the Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center, a federal trade education program for at-risk youth.Β Bouldin alsoΒ served as theΒ board of directors for Tri-County Mental Health Organization in Kansas City, MO, and is aΒ former member of the Excelsior Springs Historic Preservation Board, the International Optimist Club and the International Kiwanis Club. He alsoΒ currently serves on the board of the St.Β Petersburg Job Corps Center.

Bouldin added that during his time in Excelsior Springs he gained a lot of experience in community development and reshaping a cityΒ for the better.Β 

Happily married, Bouldin's wife approached him a few months back about considering candidacy for Tarpon Springs City Commission, Seat 4, and the rest is history waiting to be written.

"I really do enjoy seeing positive change in the community," Bouldin said.Β
