Organizers of Night in the Islands say the show must go on and added "we are NOT cancelling" in an email on Friday afternoon.
After considering weekend weather reports, the group has decided to take a gamble and pursue the event as scheduled.
According to Tina Bucuvalas of the City of Tarpon Springs, organizers even contacted a meteorologist to get an expert's opinion.
The prediction is that rain may occur on Saturday morning and afternoon, but should clear up in time for the festivities.
