Pedestrian Killed While Walking Along Road In Tarpon Springs

TARPON SPRINGS, FL — A pedestrian was killed Sunday while walking along of the shoulder of Anclote Boulevard.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 5:30 p.m., a 24-year-old Holiday woman was driving a car north on Oakmont Avenue, south of Anclote Boulevard. Troopers said she failed to yield at the intersection and struck a sports utility vehicle driven by a 51-year-old Holiday woman.

The SUV rotated in the road after being struck and hit a 42-year-old woman from Dickson, Tennessee, who was walking on the shoulder.

She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
