Plum Tomato’s Pizza is Fresh, Flavorful

It may not look like much from the outside, but looks can be deceiving. Plum Tomato could easily be considered one of Tarpon Springs' best kept secrets.

For those who know me, it comes as no surprise that pizza is the focus of my second food adventure in a new town. But trust me, if you decide to visit the Plum Tomato restaurant, you will be thanking me afterwards.

After scanning the neighborhood, I ended up in a small plaza at the intersection of Klosterman Road and Pinellas Avenue. A gas station is on one end, near a pharmacy and a few other small businesses. Sandwiched in the middle is a small Italian restaurant.

I will admit that I was unsure of what to expect, but I try to keep an open mind.

Plum Tomato offers more than just pizza and pasta. Salads, sandwiches and wings are also on the menu. To stay true to my character, I went with the Italian Flag Pizza. A thin crust, baked to perfection, was topped with broccoli, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, sun dried tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and herbs.

Pizza pricing:
Small- $11.50
Medium- $13.50
Large- $16.25
X-Large- $18.99

I highly recommend Plum Tomato for any occasion, whether it’s a dinner date or a family celebration.
