Retired Educator Gives Back to 700 Teachers

From now until Monday, September 2, @Cafe in Tarpon Springs will give area teachers their first drink on the house, compliments of a local regular.

According to @Cafe manager, Yanni Stathakis, the idea came from Dr. Nicholas Alexiou, a retired educator and regular of the coffee shop.

"Alexiou wanted to show his appreciation to all his beloved public school teachers in the Tarpon Springs area while supporting his favorite local coffee shop," Stathakis told Patch.

More than 700 gift cards are being distributed to teachers' mailboxes through Wednesday, June 5. 

Teachers will be able to use the $5 gift card anytime during the summer break for coffee, tea or their favorite @Cafe beverage.
