Tarpon Springs Makes USA Today Top Ten
The Republican National Convention has brought a lot of attention to the bay area and Tarpon Springs is among the communities of interest.
USA Today listed 10 spots “to put politics aside” in Tampa Bay. Tarpon Springs made the cut, along with Beach Drive in St. Petersburg and Fort De Soto County Park in Tierra Verde.
A snippit of information on the city was accompanied by an image of a local, trimming a freshly found sponge.
The article described Tarpon Springs as,
“This Greek community 30 miles northwest of downtown is the place to come for traditional restaurants with dishes that taste straight out of Athens. You can still wander the sponge-diving docks, take a boat tour and then buy the natural product in stores.”
