Tarpon Springs Marching Band Moves on to Grand National Finals

After a whirlwind of performances, the band will perform later tonight for the number one spot in the Grand National Championship.

The Tarpon Springs Marching Band has secured a spot in the Grand National Finals in Indianapolis tonight.

Earlier today at the Grand National Semi-Final competition, the marching band from Tarpon Springs High School received first place in their AA class.Β 

Other awards for their semi-final performance included Outstanding Music, Outstanding Visual and Outstanding General Effect.

87 bands competed in the Grand National Championship, with 30 making it in to the semi-final round. Now, the top 12 schools will go head to head in hopes of clinching the ultimate title of Grand National Champions.

The finals begin tonight at 8 p.m. and Tarpon Springs is scheduled to perform at 10:30 p.m. Awards will be presented at 11 p.m.
