Sheriff’s Office Investigating 2 Deaths Near Fletcher Avenue

Two people were found dead in different locations near Fletcher Avenue last night. The sheriff's office says the incidents are unrelated.

Update (11:39 a.m.):Β The person who was found dead this morning at 13605 42nd St. has been identified as Noah Kushner, 16, of New Tampa, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Kushner’s parents filed a missing persons report with the Tampa Police Department on Monday, the sheriff’s office said.

Kushner was found lying on the ground between a basketball court and a high-rise apartment building that is vacant and closed for renovation, the sheriff’s office said. The circumstances and nature of Kushner's death are still under investigation.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene of two active death investigations. Both deaths occurred near Fletcher Avenue but appear to be unrelated, the sheriff’s office said.

The first death took place at 11 p.m. yesterday. A store clerk at the BP Gas Station at 2230 E. Fletcher Ave. called the sheriff’s office and indicated a man was lying on the ground behind the gas station, the sheriff’s office said.

The second death took place this morning just before 7 a.m. The sheriff’s office said it was notified that a male was seen lying in the middle of a basketball court at 13605 42nd St.

Deputies found no physical signs of trauma that indicated the cause of death in either case, the sheriff’s office said. The victims were transported to the Hillsborough County Medical Examiners Office where autopsies will determine the causes of death.
