40-Year Public Works Employee Honored By City of Temple Terrace
Wednesday was officially declared Eddie Davis day in honor of Davis' longtime service.

TEMPLE TERRACE, FL β At Wednesday's Temple Terrace City Council meeting, starting at 6 p.m. at Temple Terrace City Hall, 11250 N. 56th St., Mayor Andy Ross will issue a proclamation declaring it "Eddie Davis Day," recognizing Eddie Davis, fleet maintenance foreman, who is celebrating his 40th year of employment.
Davis began his career with the city as a member of the grounds crew on April 13, 1983. In 2014, he was Temple Terrace's Employee of the Year and has received numerous Employee of the Month awards, nominated not only by public works staff but also by police and fire department personnel.
"The city depends on Eddie for his constant and reliable high quality of work, which is vital to the efficient operation of not only the public works department, but the city as a whole," said Ray LeBlanc, director of the Temple Terrace Public Works, Operations & Maintenance Department.

Only one other employee, former Leisure Services Director James Chambers (now a city council member), has worked for the city longer, retiring after 43 years.
Temple Terrace honored Davis on June 7 with an ice cream social catered by Abbott's Frozen Custard for city staff at the public works facility, 11210 N 53rd St. Flavors will include butter pecan, Davis' favorite.

Staff members are also wearing pins celebrating Davis'milestone.
