On the brink of a possible government shutdown, stories about Waltβs escapades coming to a close can be found in the news both regionally and nationally. Commentary about the showβs final episode even made it into the top slots on both theΒ Tampa Bay TimesΒ andΒ Tampa TribuneΒ websites the morning after (Sept. 30).Β Pieces on the drama in Washington, D.C., did not.

TheΒ AMCΒ original clearly had a strong following. In the days before the final episode,Β Forbes predictedΒ more than 8 million people would tune in to watch the final chapter in Waltβs dark, anti-hero story. While the viewership numbers arenβt out yet, the social media world is on fire with laments about the showβs passing.
