Mayor-Elect Chillura: ‘I’m Ready to Get in Gear’
Frank Chillura has won the Temple Terrace mayoral race, defeating opponent Cheri Donohue by 7.4 percent of the vote.

The first thing Frank Chillura did after learning he had won the Temple Terrace mayoral race was thank all of the supporters who were watching election results at his home.
“It’s humbling,” Chillura said of the win. “I’ve had a lot of great support from the community. [Temple Terrace is] a great city, and I’m excited to guide it into the future.”
Chillura, a former city council member, received 5,743 votes, or 53.73 percent of the vote, beating opponent and former executive director of the . She received 4,945 votes, or 46.27 percent of the vote, according to the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Election Office.

Donohue said she thinks she ran a good race.
“The day was long, and the race was hard,” she said. “I’m a good sport, and I will obviously offer my support to the city in any way I can.”

Chillura said he was happy that all Temple Terrace candidates—mayoral and City Council—had been respectful and positive throughout the campaign. Now, he said, it’s time to look ahead.
“I’m glad the campaigning part’s over with,” he said. “I’m ready to get in gear. I was looking forward to this, and I look forward to working with everybody.”
