City Council Expected to Approve Three Zoning Reclassifications

The council will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

At their meeting Tuesday evening, the Temple Terrace City Council is scheduled to hear the second and final readings of ordinances that would reclassify city property, according to the meeting agenda.

Scout Park at 911 Bellemeade Avenue and Riverfront Preserve at 6324 Temple Terrace Highway would be rezoned from City Single-Family Residential to City Preservation. Another ordinance would rezone West River Preserve at 1103 West River Drive from City Single-Family Residential to Preservation.

The council will take public comment before it votes on these ordinances. Anyone from the community will be allowed to speak.

Barring any radical new information, the council is expected to approve these ordinances.

The council is also scheduled to hear the second and final reading of an ordinance to voluntary annex approximately 1.65 acres of the East Telecom Parkway Extension right-of-way.

Also during the meeting, the council is expected to:

  • hear the first reading of an ordinance to rezone property at 12200 N. 56th St. from City Commercial Office to City Commercial General
  • hear correspondence from Patrick and Pamela Devoid regarding Orange River Estates
  • review a site plan from Advance Auto, which has requested a sign variance
  • consider four resolutions regarding appointments, medical equipment, the City Hall parking lot, and Riverhills playground renovations
  • make proclaimations regarding National Arbor Day and Temple Terrace Arbor Day
