Community Invited to Spend β€˜Sunday in the Park’

Head to Woodmont Park on Sunday for food, entertainment and more.

The Temple Terrace Garden Club and the City of Temple Terrace are inviting the community to enjoy an afternoon under an oak tree canopy during the seventh annual Sunday in the Park.

The free event will take place on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at , 407 Woodmont Ave. It’s hosted by the Temple Terrace Garden Club and co-sponsored by the city.

β€œWe work all year long on making and keeping Woodmont Park in Temple Terrace a beautiful place to visit, to read a book or to hold a wedding,” said Garden Club member Cheri Donohue in a . β€œWe want to share our park with all the residents of Temple Terrace!”

According to a press release from Mike Dunn, the city’s public information officer, the event will feature:

  • Live music by the Northeast Tampa Musicians
  • Theatrical performances by Masque Community Theatre
  • The authors of β€œImages of America: Temple Terrace”
  • Educational and environmental exhibits
  • A β€œKid’s Corner” with crafts, coloring books, face painting and other fun activities
  • Homemade baked goods
  • Plant vendors
  • Grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, kettle corn and other snacks at reasonable prices
  • A visit from Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, who will have candy and other giveaways

Santa will arrive on a fire truck at 2 p.m., Donohue said.

The Garden Club will also be raising money for Sincerely Santa, a program that gathers Christmas gifts for needy children in Hillsborough County, through food and retail vendor sales.

The Garden Club and the city’s Parks and Recreation Division maintain Woodmont Park.
