DUI Checkpoint Planned for 53rd Street/113th Avenue Friday
The goal is to keep roadways safe.

The is hosting a multiagency "Low Manpower Safety Checkpoint" Friday starting at 10 p.m. in the area of 53rd Street and 113th Avenue, according to Mike Dunn, the city’s public information officer.
According to the Temple Terrace Police Department, Driving Under the Influence (DUI) is a public safety problem, Dunn said. Additionally, Hillsborough County has consistently ranked among the top counties in the state for alcohol-related crashes.
“The goal of Friday night’s checkpoint is to reduce the number of alcohol-related crashes, injuries and fatalities on Florida roadways by conducting high-visibility enforcement operations and increasing public awareness of the state’s DUI-related incidents,” Dunn said.

Immediately following the checkpoint, Temple Terrace police patrols are expected to saturate the city from midnight to 4 a.m.
