They are also truly unique—no other barbershop quartet in the world performs with the antique Deagan Organ Chimes along with original tap dance and straw-hat routines.
According to Myron Whittlesey, this type of old-fashioned entertainment is fun for the audience and the performers.

“I enjoy this because there are very few other outlets that I get to do something I love, be completely silly, and the audience actually enjoys that,” he says.
Whittlesey also feels that The Humdingers are doing important work by keeping a piece of Americana alive
“This style of music is just as much about the performance as it is the music. Vaudeville played a huge role in developing theater,” he says. “All in all, it's as much about preserving a part of our nation's musical heritage—almost as a living, breathing museum.”
The Humdingers will perform on Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Puckett Auditorium. Admission is free.
